Welcome to my website and my art.

Painting is what I love to do and it is a way of sharing with others something of my personality and how I see the world around me.

Ideas for my paintings come directly from nature; the ultimate teacher and guide presenting me with an ever-changing choice of material to enjoy through the seasons.

I am inspired to capture the essence of a moment in time...the mood and atmosphere in the subject... and convey my own impression and interpretation of the light, colour and texture of the landscape.

Using oils or acrylics on canvas and board, my work may be either painted from the subject in a representational form, or abstracted and lifted from my imagination to create a picture which challenges me to go beyond reality. I like using the shapes and designs that I see in the subject to begin a journey of experimentation that allows me to express my creative spirit.

The painting is complete when I feel it has come alive.
